Just Before Christmas
We are looking forward to spending Christmas at home, as a family this year. So far, it's been really relaxing. It has been fun to watch Gavin notice the decorations around the house. He loves turning the Christmas Tree lights on every morning. We put kid friendly ornaments near the bottom that he likes to look at and touch. It's fun to see him go up to the tree and smell it, "Mmmmm". We had our stockings hung over the fireplace until he pulled one down and broke the metal stocking holder. I moved them so they wouldn't be a temptation any more. Gavin has started noticing presents under the tree. It has been fun to watch him look at the wrapping paper and pet the bows. Luckily he's been very good, only hauling one or two gifts around the house, usually putting them back when we ask. He now knows who Santa Clause is, unfortunately he was not happy about sitting on his lap.
Brian is working on our kitchen again. Today he's finishing the electrical work for the lighting under the cabinets. We will all be very happy when our kitchen is finished. Brian already has three trips planned in January and February. "Honeymoon is over." We have enjoyed having Brian around so much these past few months and consider ourselves blessed to have had him around during the holidays.
As we celebrate Christmas, we are grateful to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for the sacrifices which they made for us. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
